Simplified Chinese IME not working after Windows update – says dictionary not ready

After a recent Windows update, the Simplified Chinese IME stopped working. It shows “IME dictionary is not ready yet.” I tried reinstalling the language pack, resetting the IME, and restarting, but nothing works. Now it says I need admin rights, which I don’t have because this is a company-managed device. I’d like to know if there’s a way to fix this without involving my IT department.

    • Go to these folders and delete their contents (not the folders):
      • %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\InputMethod\Chs
      • %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\IME
    • Restart you machine to apply new changes.

    3 - Check Language Features

    • In Language options for Chinese (Simplified), confirm Basic typing shows as “Installed.”

    Thank you a lot. I appreciate it.

    But it did not help and I could not fix it even though I did everything you instructed. I guess the key is these error codes :

    So, i just asked hept to my company's administration section even though I really did not want to bother them.

    Thank you anyway but I really wish it wouldn't happen after update window from you .
