How do I add a Guest on Teams and subsequently in the SharePoint Members listing

The drop down list to add Members (when setting up a team) does not show my contacts so I can add 3rd party service providers to be Members. I noted a Guest option in a pop up note BUT cannot find the option to select a Guest (which I assume would require their email).

    Along the way, I’ll need to confirm a few details to better assist you:

    1. After you click "Add member" and type the email or name of the person you want to add, are you unable to find them? (If yes, the reason might be related to the yellow warning shown in the first screenshot above.)

    2. Are you the owner of the Team you're trying to add the guest to?

    3. Are you trying to add the guest during Team creation or after the Team has already been created?

    4. Are you trying to add someone from outside your organization (i.e., a third-party with a different email domain)

    5. Are you expecting that once a guest is added to the Team or Microsoft Teams, they will automatically appear in the SharePoint Members listing?

    6. Is the SharePoint site connected to the Team, or is it a standalone site?

    Only connected SharePoint sites will sync membership with Teams.
