Payment dispute. I have not been advised there was a cheaper option for my renewal of Microsoft 365 and I would like the level I have been charged for changed (and refunded accordingly)

Billing dispute. I was told my Microsoft subscription was rising from $109 AUD to $159 but you have failed to advise that I could have remained on the basic $109 AUD level and not have the AI Co-Pilot option. I want to revert to the basic Personal level. I have not downloaded the newly charged version (payment taken from my Visa on 14th October 2025). Your subscription notice for renewal of my service is misleading and I also believe a class action is being formulated. All I want is to have the charges on my account refunded to $109 and the account to remain at the base level. Trusting you will attend to this without further stress. Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Microsoft Q&A is public, and we can only provide information. It is beyond our capability to assist directly with billing or refund-related concerns.

To switch back to the Classic Microsoft 365 plan (without Copilot AI), please sign in to your Microsoft account "Services and Subscription" https://account.microsoft.com/services and select "Manage" next to your Microsoft 365 subscription. Choose "Cancel subscription", and when you scroll down, you should see an option to switch to the Classic plan instead. Just follow the on-screen steps to complete the switch.

If the payment was made recently (like the one on October 14), you can also request a refund through the same page by selecting View your options after cancellation.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

I've been onto MS Live Chat. It takes a little while, but they can process the refund and change that way. Thanks and good luck to anyone else in this situation. Get onto it and get your refund!
