Hi everyone, I often use multiple tabs at once for work and studies - like online forms, video tutorials, and job search sites. I’ve noticed Chrome, Edge, and Brave all perform differently when I open many tabs together.

From your experience, which browser handles multitasking better in terms of speed, memory usage, and battery performance on Windows 11? Also, does turning on “Efficiency mode” in Edge actually help with performance?

    Hi,

Here’s a quick breakdown based on real-world multitasking performance:

Microsoft Edge generally performs best on Windows 11 because it’s optimized for the OS. It uses less memory per tab and the Efficiency mode actually helps, it reduces background tab activity and throttles resources to save battery and lower CPU usage, especially on laptops.

Brave is also quite strong for multitasking because of its built-in ad/tracker blocker, which means fewer scripts running in the background , that makes it feel faster when many tabs are open. However, it can sometimes use more memory than Edge.

Chrome, while powerful and smooth, is the heaviest on RAM and battery drain during multitasking. It’s reliable but can slow down if you open a very large number of tabs.

In short: if you’re on Windows 11 and use many tabs daily, Edge (with Efficiency mode on) is the best balance of speed + resource management, while Brave is great for privacy and lightness.

    Kind regards,
