When installing the Windows Home Server connector (x64) software on a Windows 7 laptop the installer says the Server password is incorrect but I know 100% it IS correct.

    Hi Thompson,

Even when the password is correct, this issue can occur due to a few underlying causes:

    Time synchronization mismatch

    Network discovery issues

Connector version mismatch Permission or elevation problems

    What you can try is:

Sync system clocks: Make sure both your laptop and server are using the same time zone and are synced to an internet time server.

Run the installer as administrator: Right-click the setup file and choose Run as administrator.

Use the correct connector version: Download the connector directly from the server’s shared folder (\servername\Software\Home Server Connector Software) to ensure compatibility.

Check firewall and network settings: Ensure both devices are on the same network and that firewalls aren’t blocking discovery.

Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall: Just during installation, to rule out interference.

Let me know how it goes, Happy to help!
