Thank you for bringing to our attention the issue regarding the absence of the Assignments app in Microsoft Teams following the recent academic year update. To assist in identifying the root cause and implementing a resolution, I would appreciate your help in reviewing the following key areas: 

1. Are you accessing Teams via the desktop app, web browser, or mobile app? May I know what OS are you running? (Mac, Windows) 
2. Have you noticed the Assignments tab missing in all teams or just specific ones? 
3. Are you using the New Teams interface or Classic Teams? 

Please follow this step-by-step instruction to see if anything changes: 

• Try accessing Teams via //teams.microsoft.com or the mobile app to see if the Assignments tab appears. 
• If you are using the New Teams experience, try switching back to Classic Teams temporarily. 
• Clear your Teams cache with instructions in this article Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn 
• Check if the team you're in is a Class Team. Assignments only appear in Class Teams. 

Please ask your IT Admin and let me know: 

1. Were the Teams created using the Class Team template? 
2. Are affected users assigned valid Microsoft 365 Education licenses (e.g., A1, A3, A5)? 
3. Has the Assignments app been allowed in App permission policies? 
4. Is the Assignments app included in App setup policies and pinned for users? 
5. Has the Assignments bot been disabled or blocked in the Admin Center? 

To check, with an Admin account, kindly go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center:  

• Check Teams apps > Permission policies to ensure Assignments is allowed. 
• Check Teams apps > Setup policies to confirm Assignments is pinned or available. 
• Under Manage apps, search for “Assignments” and verify it is not blocked. 
• Confirm that Teams were created as Class Teams. 
• Verify that users have valid Education licenses. 
• If using New Teams, check for bot-related issues that may affect Assignments visibility.
