How can I block spam invitations to my calendar. I don't have 50 characters

I have basically the same question, with a few caveats. There’s no email that goes with the invitation that was added to my calendar & Every time I tried to delete it. It pops right back up. And how do you block the sender?

I created a rule to send all invitations to spam, but I don't see how to create an exception for people on my safe list without adding each individual email. This is awful. My calendar is now completely useless. I got tons of these everyday, buried within thousands of junkmail, so they are not easy to find and delete without going into the invitation. I see people have been reporting this issue since 2023. Microsoft, needs to find a solution ASAP. People, like me, who have been with hotmail for decades may have to jump ship for persistent issues like this that render the service unusable.

Hi Ann,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand how frustrating it is to keep getting spam calendar invites in Outlook for iOS.

Unfortunately, you can’t completely block them, but you can reduce them. Open the Outlook app, go to Calendar, select the spam event, tap Decline, and choose Delete and Decline if prompted. If they keep appearing, check iOS Settings > Calendar > Accounts for any unfamiliar subscribed calendars and remove them. You can also block the sender and report the invite as Junk or Phishing in Outlook.

Do these invites show up only in Outlook or also in your iPhone’s native calendar?

I found that going to my junk mail folder and finding the sender of the invitation and deleting the message deletes to calendar invitation

Thanks for the suggestion, but there’s absolutely nothing in my Outlook junk email. These scam invitations that are being sent to me are just literally being posted directly to my calendar no email no way to stop it. I’ve tried to block the person that is being sent from and there’s no way to block it. Strangely enough it’s not actually showing up on my Outlook calendar, but it’s showing up on my iPhone calendar as if it’s coming from my Outlook calendar but when I go to my Outlook calendar, there’s nothing there. So I basically had to turn my Outlook calendar off completely.

Any idea how long it might take for Microsoft to create a way to block them?

Microsoft is aware of the problem but there is currently no fix. There are no Rules you can create or settings you can change in the Outlook client that will stop these SPAM Calendar Events.

SPAM Calendar Events - Update 2025-12-05 - Still an ongoing issue. No update from Microsoft on a general solution.

If your organization has a Microsoft Defender for Office 365 subscription, there are steps your IT Admin can take to mitigate the impact:
