Whenever I close the Edge browser, it signs me out of all my websites like Amazon and YouTube. I've tried so many different fixes from google searches and from this site and nothing as worked. It seems this probelm is very old. Is there meant to be a fix coming for this soon? Are otehr people still experincing this? I don't like using google but Chrome doesn't make me sign into everything every time I use it.

Any recent suggestions from 2025 that have worked?

    Hi @MiFo ,

I completely understand how frustrating it is to have to sign back into all your websites like Amazon or YouTube every time you close Edge - it can really disrupt your workflow.

    Here’s a step-by-step approach:

Step 1: Check “Clear on exit” and cookie settings

    1. Open Edge → Settings → Privacy, search, and services.
    2. Under Clear browsing data → Choose what to clear every time you close the browser, make sure Cookies and other site data is not checked.
    3. Go back to Privacy, search, and services → Cookies.
      • Ensure “Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)” is turned on.
      • If Block third-party cookies is on, consider turning it off temporarily to test.

Step 2: Enable password and passkey autofill

    1. Open Edge → Settings → Passwords and autofill → Microsoft Password Manager → More Settings.
    2. Enable Autofill passwords and passkeys.
    3. Tick Fill website password and passkey automatically, or suggest available passkeys.
    • This ensures your saved credentials are automatically filled, reducing the impact of unexpected sign-outs.

Following these steps usually resolves the sign‑out problem. The main causes are often cookies or profile data being cleared, or saved credentials not properly autofilled, either due to settings, extensions, or profile issues.

Hope this helps! If my answer was useful, please follow the instructions here so others with the same problem can benefit as well.
