Azure Lab Services didn't delete all resources

Hello,

After deleting an Azure Lab, several dependent resources — Load Balancer, Virtual Network, and Public IP- were not removed and remain in my subscription. These are still linked to the deleted Lab’s subscription, which prevents me from deleting them.

They continue to incur charges, and I don’t have a support plan to resolve this through normal channels.

Could someone from the Azure Lab team please assist in removing these orphaned resources? This appears to be an Azure backend issue and should be automatically handled when a Lab is deleted. It’s unreasonable for users to bear costs caused by a platform-side deletion error.

Thank you.

    Hi Mas023,

Thank you for sharing the details.

The issue occurred because a Virtual Machine Scale Set (VMSS) resource associated with the deleted Azure Lab was still active in the backend. This dependency prevented the automatic deletion of other related resources such as the Load Balancer, Virtual Network, and Public IP.

After performing a backend cleanup to remove the VMSS, the dependent resources were successfully unblocked, and all remaining resources were deleted from the subscription without any further issues.
