I use my iPad mostly with Magic Keyboard attached. When I want to type something at the bottom of browser, it blocks what i am typing. when i want to use trackpad to do something while the autofill bar is up, it just keeps popping up. Please tell me how do i completely disable that.

    Hi,

You can try this: on your iPad, open Settings > Safari (or Edge, if you’re using it), then look for AutoFill or Passwords and Autofill, and toggle off all options such as "Use Contact Info," "Credit Cards," or "Save Passwords." Next, go to Settings > General > Keyboard and turn off Predictive, Auto-Correction, and Shortcuts, these also trigger that gray autofill bar above the keyboard. Once done, restart your iPad to make sure the changes take effect. Just curious, does the bar still appear even when you’re not using Safari or Edge, like when typing in Notes or Mail? And have you noticed if it happens more with form fields or password boxes specifically?

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

Since the usual AutoFill and Keyboard settings didn’t remove it, this might be tied to the QuickType bar or the form suggestion toolbar that appears system-wide in iPadOS. You can try this next: go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards, and turn off Show Lowercase Keys and Shortcuts if available, then restart the iPad. Also, open Settings > Safari (or Edge) and clear all website data under Advanced > Website Data, as cached form suggestions can make the bar persist.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

Got it, You can try one more adjustment inside Edge

    Open Edge on your iPad.

Tap the three dots (…) > Settings > Personal info, and turn off Save and fill personal info.

Then go to Settings > Passwords and Autofill, and toggle off Offer to save passwords, Show suggestions, and Autofill passwords.

Finally, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data, and clear Saved form entries and Passwords.

After that, force-quit Edge (swipe it away from the App Switcher) and reopen it.

If it still shows up, that might confirm it’s a UI bug in the iPad version of Edge with Magic Keyboard.

    Kind regards,
