SSIS Annotation and changing font color

We have an Annotation explaining some detail in a SSIS Package. My color theme is "Dark" and I do see some rumblings about an issue with "Dark" theme when trying to change the font color of the Annotation to yellow. It will take in our current Session but once we Save All and get out of the SSIS Package in Microsoft Visual Studio and then re-open the Solution, the Annotation font color appears in white again as it did before the change and Save All.

Is there an issue trying to change the Annotation font color in "Dark" theme or am I doing something wrong when I select the Annotation and change the font to yellow and then Save All??

Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a review and good, quality reply.

    Hi Bobby P,

Thank you for reaching out to SQL Q&A Forum.

This is a known theme issue when using the dark theme in SSIS. Annotation font colours may be overridden because the dark theme’s designer colour mappings can reset custom colours when the package is reloaded. Please follow below steps:

    • Go to Tools --> Options --> Environment --> Fonts and Colors. In Show settings for, choose Business Intelligence Designers and set the annotation text colour to your required colour, then restart visual studio and reopen the package.

This sets the colour at the designer level so it will not reset with the theme. If it still reverts, temporarily switch to the light theme when editing annotations, this theme does not override custom colours.

    Thanks,
