I'm trying to grant access for certian groups based on tables. Right now everyone can see everything, only specific people need to see certain tables. How do I fix this?

Thanks,

Nathan

    Hi Nathan Sommer,

Thanks for reaching on Microsoft Q&A!

Can you please check below things to fix the issue and let us know

    1. Security Roles: Assign different security roles based on your access needs. Azure Data Explorer allows the assignment of roles at various levels, including at the table level. You can learn more about how to manage Security Roles here.
    2. To restrict access to specific tables, you can turn on the Restricted View Access policy for those tables. This policy ensures that only principals with the unrestrictedViewer role can access the table. Meanwhile, principals with the regular viewer role can't view the table.
    3. Restrict All: Apply the RestrictedViewAccess = true policy to all sensitive tables.
    4. Allow Restricted: Grant the Database UnrestrictedViewer role to the specific group that should see the sensitive tables.
    5. Allow General: Grant the basic Database Viewer role to everyone else who needs general read access to the non-sensitive data.
