I have setup a new Azure Migrate project along with the discovery appliance. I need to perform a migration from a physical or AWS vm to Azure. The servers have been discovered but I am unable to find where to download the replication appliance and mobility service installer. Microsoft's documentation states the following

Download the replication appliance installer

  1. In the Azure Migrate project, select Servers, databases, and web apps > Migration and modernization > Discover.

From my project I do not have the same options that are described above. I need to find where I can download the replication appliance.

To download the replication appliance installer for Azure Migrate, follow these steps:

    1. In your Azure Migrate project, navigate to Servers, databases, and web apps.
    2. Then go to Migration and modernization and select Discover.
    3. In the Discover machines section, check if you have the option for Are your machines virtualized? and select Not virtualized/Other.
    4. Choose the Target region for your migration.
    5. Confirm that the target region is correct and select Create resources. This will create a Site Recovery vault in the background.
    6. When prompted with Do you want to install a new replication appliance?, select Install a replication appliance.
    7. You should then see the option to Download and install the replication appliance software. Download the appliance installer and the registration key, which is valid for five days after downloading.

If you do not see these options, ensure that your Azure Migrate project is set up correctly and that you have the necessary permissions to access these features.

    Hello Craig Williams,

We understand that, you have set up an Azure Migrate project and deployed the discovery appliance. The servers are discovered, but you cannot find the option to download the replication appliance installer and Mobility Service agent, as described in Microsoft documentation.

To download the replication appliance installer and mobility service installer, the process slightly varies depending on whether you are migrating from physical servers or VMs (like AWS).

    • Go to  Azure Migrate > Select your project
    • Select "Start discovery" under Select Migration and modernization > under this "Using appliance" > select "For Azure". User's image
    • In the servers virtualized dropdown, select the physical server > under this you can be able to see the Download option to download azure migrate appliance. User's image

This AzureMigrateInstaller.zip file contains the PowerShell script you run on your Windows server to deploy the Replication Appliance (Configuration Server). Once that is set up, you can enable replication, and the Mobility Service will be pushed automatically.

Or once the appliance is set up and running, it will guide you to install the mobility service on your servers for replication to Azure.

Hope this helps, if you encounter any issue, please let us know, thanks
