Have Home Office 2024. Suddenly this morning I can't save in excel or edit in word. I am advised to renew license. When I click on renew license I get error code 44. Unable to renew license. It does show I have Office 2024 which I purchased last fall. I did not buy Office 365. I do see a banner "Activate Microsoft 365 to Create and Edit" in Word. And in Excel some files have the banner"Activate Microsoft 365 to Create and Edit Your Office 2019 license is not supported with this version of the application" and some do not. I have done some significant editing in excel and when I went to close I found I could not save the work without activating 365! Help!

At the top right of Word, log out of Office, restart your PC, then log back into Office to test if your Office licence is recognized correctly.

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, do you find your correct Office licence listed there?
