Good day @Thomas Miedl,
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A Forum.
I truly understand your situation, however, please allow me to clarify that Microsoft Teams currently does not provide the ability to customize status colors. The status color indicators are designed to remain consistent across the platform for all users to avoid confusion.
I notice that you mentioned the high contrast theme. At present, Teams also support changing the app interface to high contrast.
Aside from changing the theme to high contrast, Windows also supports Color Filters under Accessibility > Settings. These filters are designed to help users who have difficulty with colors. I hope you can try this option, as it does not completely alter the interface like the high contrast theme (please note that this setting applies to your entire Windows environment).
Additionally, thank you for sharing your concern. I understand how important this feature is to you and for others who have similar situation as you, therefore, I recommend sharing your feedback via the Microsoft Teams app so our product team can consider this feature for future development.
As forum moderators, we’re not directly involved in product design decisions, but we want to assure you that your feedback is heard and highly appreciated. This is the most direct way to influence future features, and our engineers regularly review user input.
Thank you for your kind understanding. If you have any further question or concerns, please don't hesitate to let me know.
