If you are experiencing issues with your Facebook password being recognized as incorrect in Microsoft Edge, it may be related to how passwords are managed or synced in the browser. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Password Health: In the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, there is a feature that checks the strength of your saved passwords. Go to edge://settings/passwords to see if your Facebook password is saved correctly and whether it is marked as strong.
    2. Reset Sync: If you are having persistent sync issues, you can try resetting the sync settings. Go to Settings > Profiles > Sync and select Reset sync. This can help resolve issues related to password syncing across devices.
    3. Clear Browsing Data: Sometimes, clearing your browsing data can help resolve login issues. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
    4. Update Edge: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Microsoft Edge. You can check for updates by going to Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
    5. Re-enter Password: If the password is still not working, try manually entering it again instead of relying on autofill. Sometimes autofill can input outdated or incorrect information.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking if there are any specific settings or extensions in Edge that might be interfering with your login process.

    Hi Peter,

Edge updates often clear or reset certain browser data for security and compatibility reasons. This can affect:

Saved cookies and sessions, which store login tokens.

Password autofill settings, which may not sync properly after an update.

Site-specific cache, which can cause login mismatches even with the correct password.

When this happens, the browser may try to use outdated credentials or fail to load the login page correctly.

Here’s you can try How to Fix It

    Clear Corrupted Cache and Cookies

Go to Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data.

Select Cookies and cached files for Facebook. This forces Edge to reload fresh login data.

    Check Password Autofill

Go to Settings → Profiles → Passwords.

Make sure your Facebook credentials are saved correctly.

If not, re-enter and save them.

    Disable Extensions Temporarily

Some extensions interfere with login after updates.

Go to Settings → Extensions, turn them off, and retry login.

    Use InPrivate Mode

Press Ctrl + Shift + N to open an InPrivate window.

Log in to Facebook there. If it works, the issue is with cached data.

    Sync Settings

Ensure Sync is enabled under Settings → Profiles → Sync. This helps keep passwords consistent across updates.

Let me know how it goes, Happy to help!
