It seems that you are experiencing issues accessing assignments in Microsoft Teams. This could be due to several reasons, including potential changes in permissions or settings related to your account or the Teams environment. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Permissions: Ensure that your account has the necessary permissions to access the assignments feature. If you are part of an educational institution, the Teams admin may have changed settings that affect your access.
    2. Sign Out and Back In: Sometimes, simply signing out of Teams and signing back in can resolve temporary issues.
    3. Clear Cache: If you are using the desktop or web version, clearing the cache might help. This can resolve issues related to stored data that may be causing conflicts.
    4. Contact Admin: If the issue persists, it may be best to reach out to your IT administrator or support team to check if there are any known issues or changes made to the Teams environment that could affect your access.
    5. Use the Diagnostic Tool: If you are still facing difficulties, you can use the diagnostic tool available in Teams to collect data that might help in troubleshooting the issue. To access it, you can press Ctrl + / on desktop or use specific gestures on mobile devices as outlined in the Teams documentation.

If you continue to encounter problems, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hello @Ms A Powell,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

I’ve checked the incident and can confirm that there is an ongoing service issue impacting the Assignments app in Microsoft Teams for certain Education (EDU) tenants in the Europe region. This issue may cause assignments to stay in a loading state or fail to open as expected.

    • Incident Start Time: November 12, 2025, at approximately 05:18 PM (+07).
    • Next Update: Scheduled for November 12, 2025, at 01:00 PM UTC.

If you are an administrator in the affected region, please note:

    • Current Status: Microsoft is actively investigating the root cause of this issue.
    • Mitigation Efforts: Targeted fixes are being applied progressively to reduce the impact on affected tenants.
    • Service Impact: While these fixes are helping, the issue has not yet been fully resolved and may continue to affect some users.

If you are not an admin or your tenant is not located in Europe, please provide me more detail:

    • Are you experiencing the same issue when accessing Assignments via Teams Web, or is it only on the desktop/mobile app?
    • Could you share a full screenshot of the error message you’re seeing?

Look forward to hearing from you!

    Hello @Ms A Powell,

Here’s the latest update on the service incident:

Current Status: The service has been fully restored.

Incident Duration: November 12, 2025, from 08:09 to 15:30 UTC.

Impact: EDU tenants in the Europe region experienced difficulties opening or loading assignments and grades in Microsoft Teams.

What Happened: A failure within a subsection of infrastructure supporting EDU users caused temporary service degradation. Our engineering team implemented targeted mitigations, restarted backend components, scaled additional infrastructure, and adjusted configurations to restore normal functionality.

Next Steps: Microsoft engineering is conducting a detailed review of contributing factors and will publish a Post‑Incident Report (PIR) outlining the root cause and preventive measures.

If you are still experiencing issues, please reply here so I can assist you further.

    Waiting for your reply!
