Every time I open a tab, I'm asked if I want to allow Edge to open. Why and how do I change it to open automatically

To enable Microsoft Edge to open automatically on startup, you can configure the settings as follows:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Go to edge://settings/onStartup.
    3. Select the Continue where you left off option to restore your last open tabs from your previous browsing session. This will allow Edge to open automatically with your previous tabs every time you start it.
    4. If you want to set specific pages to open on startup, you can choose the Open a specific page or pages option and enter the URLs you want to open.

If you are still being prompted to allow Edge to open, make sure that your system settings allow Edge to launch automatically during Windows startup. You may also want to check if there are any restrictions set by your organization if you are using a work device.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out about Microsoft Edge prompting you every time you open a tab and your desire to have it start automatically. I understand how this can be inconvenient and I appreciate you bringing this up.

This behavior usually occurs because Edge isn’t fully configured to launch on startup or restore your previous session. To resolve this you can adjust both Edge and Windows settings. In Edge go to Settings select Start, home and new tabs then under When Microsoft Edge starts select either Open tabs from the previous session or Open a specific page or pages and add your preferred URLs. Additionally ensure Windows allows Edge to start automatically by adding it to your Startup folder or enabling it in Task Manager select Startup. If you’re using a managed device check with your administrator as organizational policies may override these settings. Would you like me to guide you through adding Edge to your Windows Startup folder?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo
