When will the basic SKU IP address on the basic SKU VPN be merged, and these messages about the IP address stop?

There was an email saying the notices about the basic SKU IP addresses being removed did not apply to the basic SKU VPN Gateway. It said a conversion was coming months ago and no action was needed.

When is the conversion coming?
Why am I still getting notices about the IP address?
Is there some action that I need to take?

    Hi @PaulS,

Thank you for reaching out on Microsoft Q&A forum.

As per the official Microsoft documentation, if you are using a basic SKU IP address on a basic SKU VPN gateway, an automated capability to remove the Basic public IP from your gateway will be available from the mid of February 2026 and the will be fully deprecated at the end of March 2026.

The notifications you are receiving are part of the communication targeting any resources using Basic SKU public IP addresses. These notices are to ensure that customers are aware of the deprecation timeline and migration requirements, and they may continue until the deprecation process is complete. No immediate action is required unless you choose to manually migrate before the automated process begins.

If you prefer to wait for the automated migration (which ensures your gateway's IP remains unchanged), no immediate manual action is needed from your end.
