I had to get my Surface Pro 8 serviced because the detachable keyboard was not functioning. I received the laptop back in the mail, but no keyboard. Just the screen. I only got one tracking number, so I don't know if the keyboard is being sent back or not. I have warranty, so I should be getting the keyboard back. Not sure what's going on. The customer service phone numbers aren't working.

If your Surface Pro 8 was serviced and the detachable keyboard was not returned, it is advisable to follow up with Microsoft support directly. Since you mentioned that the customer service phone numbers aren't working, you might want to try reaching out through other support channels such as the Surface Support Portal or the Microsoft 365 Admin Center if you have access to those.

Additionally, if your device is under warranty, you should be entitled to receive all components that were part of the original device, including the keyboard. It’s possible that the keyboard is being sent separately or there may have been an oversight during the service process.

For further assistance, consider checking the service request status through the support portals mentioned above, or try contacting Microsoft through their official website for alternative support options.

Microsoft usually returns a replacement Surface tablet only.

If you placed your detachable keyboard inside the box when sending the Surface Pro 8 for service, then Microsoft is required to return it.

Open a “Missing Item After Service” case with Microsoft.

Visit support.microsoft.com/devices → check service order → confirm if keyboard as received → contact support via chat and report a missing accessory.
