If you’re trying to close Word on your Mac before shutting it down, you can try the steps below:
-Press Command + Option + Esc on your keyboard to open the “Force Quit Applications” window.
-Select Microsoft Word from the list.
-Click Force Quit.
After that, try shutting down your Mac again.
