I find Microsoft Copilot incredibly difficult to use. It makes my job much harder than it was before Copilot was forced upon me. How can I get rid of it? BTW, is Microsoft going to address this or just push me off to others?

    Dear @Michael Kovaka,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum!

Thank you for sharing the details about the difficulty you’re seeing with Copilot. Also, I saw that you chose tag Word and MacOS.

So, to make sure I send you the right fix, could you confirm whether your issue is specifically about the Copilot logo/icon showing in the Word ribbon? If yes, please follow the steps in this reference article for solutions to disable or hide Copilot in Word: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5622902/how-to-disable-co-pilot

The article outlines the available approaches and policies that can be applied depending on your environment. You should check carefully the discussion between Mr. Austin and the user. Also, see the opinion of moderator Bob. In my experience, I had the same logo Copilot in Word on my MacBook before, and this method can help me as well.
If your situation is different (e.g., performance, sign-in, licensing, or settings unrelated to the Copilot logo), let me know a brief description of what you’re seeing, and I’ll guide you accordingly.

As a Microsoft Q&A moderator, my role is to guide discussions and connect users with helpful resources. While I don’t have the right to access to individual account or your environment in order to help you directly. However, I still try my best to support you using the resources available. So, please feel free to let me know your update in comment section.
Hope this helps and wish you a pleasant day!

TINo-T's answer will work if you have a Classic version of Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 or 2024 and only want to get rid of the icon that mistakenly appears in the lower right corner of every document.

If you have a standard version of Microsoft 365 and want to get rid of CoPilot, you can switch to a Microsoft 365 Classic account. It doesn't have Copilot and is a little less expensive than the new Microsoft 365 accounts: Switching to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family Classic Plans. Please note, this applies only to Personal and Family plans, so your Business plan may not qualify.

Seriously? Microsoft pushed me off to AI, and then when AI was unable to respond, Microsoft pushes me off to the "community"?
