Dear @JunasC, Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. We are happy to assist.
When you activate a role through PIM, it’s temporary and can take a few minutes to apply across all Microsoft 365 services. Some services, like OneDrive provisioning in the Admin Center, use cached role information. If that cache hasn’t updated yet, the activated role may not be recognized. A Global Administrator with a permanent assignment works immediately because it’s always active and recognized by all services.
Here are some workarounds you should try:
- After activating the role, allow at least 15–30 minutes before attempting OneDrive provisioning tasks.
- Sign out and sign back in. This ensures your session token is updated with the new role permissions.
- Use an InPrivate/Incognito window. Cached sessions can block updated permissions, so starting a fresh session helps.
- If it’s urgent. Use an account with a permanent Global Administrator assignment to complete OneDrive provisioning immediately.
