I just migrated from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 Basic. Scheduling meetings in Teams doesn't have a call-in audio option where Google Meet loaded that in there by default. What am I missing?

  1. Is this a pay-to-play add-on?
  2. If it is included, what do I need to do to enable the call-in information?

    Dear @AC,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand you moved to Microsoft 365 Business Basic and noticed Teams meetings don’t include a phone dial‑in option by default.
I would like to clarify that

Microsoft 365 Business Basic includes Teams meetings, but dial‑in (call‑in) numbers are provided by a feature called Audio Conferencing.

This feature is not included by default in Business Basic. Microsoft offers it as a free add‑on license called “Microsoft Teams Audio Conferencing with dial‑out to USA/CAN” (availability depends on your region).

Once this add‑on is added and assigned to your meeting organizers, new Teams meeting invites will automatically include:

    A local dial‑in phone number

    A conference ID

A “Find a local number” link

    What you need to do:

    • Ask your Microsoft 365 admin to go to the Microsoft 365 admin center > Billing > Purchase services > search for Audio Conferencing and add the free SKU.

Assign the Audio Conferencing license to any users who schedule meetings.

    • After that, create new Teams meetings, dial‑in details will appear in the invite.

Note: Toll‑free numbers and international dial‑out may require Communications Credits or pay‑as‑you‑go billing.

In Microsoft 365, the Audio Conferencing feature is indeed an add-on that is not included in the basic subscription. To enable call-in audio options for scheduling meetings in Microsoft Teams, you will need to purchase and assign an Audio Conferencing license to the users who will schedule or lead meetings. Here are the steps you need to follow:

    1. Purchase Audio Conferencing Licenses: You need to buy Audio Conferencing licenses separately, as they are not included in the Microsoft 365 Basic subscription.
    2. Assign Licenses: After purchasing, assign these licenses to the users who will be scheduling or leading meetings.
    3. Set Up Communications Credits: If you have users with pay-per-minute licenses, you must also set up Communications Credits for those users to ensure Audio Conferencing works properly.

Once you have completed these steps, users will be able to schedule meetings with call-in audio options included.
