Hi,
I’m really sorry about the issue you’re running into, Upon checking here's some other troubleshooting that you can also try:
- Clear Word App Cache via Settings
Sometimes a clean reset from the app's internal settings works better than a simple reinstallation.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and select the Word app from your list of installed applications.
- Look for an option named Reset Word or Clear Cache and enable it if present (this may vary by version).
- Alternatively, within the Word app, go to Settings > Help & Feedback > Reset App to clear the cache and temporary files.
- Verify AirPrint Functionality and Configuration
The Microsoft 365 apps use the iOS native AirPrint functionality.
- Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check this using your printer manufacturer's app or website.
- Try power cycling your network equipment (router, modem, and printer) as this can refresh network connections and AirPrint discovery. Unplug them for about 15 seconds, then plug them back in order.
- Confirm there are no VPNs or firewalls active on your iPhone or network that might block communication between the Word app and the printer.
- Export to PDF and Print from Another App
As a workaround that can help diagnose the issue, try exporting your document to a PDF and printing the PDF from another app like the native Apple Files or Books app.
- In Word, tap the three dots or File icon > Export or Save As > choose PDF format.
- Save the PDF to your iPhone's files and attempt to print it from a different application. If this works, the issue is definitely specific to the Word application's printing process and not the general iOS print system.
- Check Document Specific Issues
It's possible the issue is with a specific document.
- Try creating a new, blank document with just a few words and attempt to print it. If the new document prints, the original document might be corrupted or have specific formatting/protection issues (e.g., restricted editing) preventing printing.
- Reset Network Settings on iPhone
This erases all current network settings, including Wi-Fi passwords and VPN configurations, and returns them to factory defaults. This can often resolve persistent connectivity issues.
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. (Note: You will have to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network afterward).
Hope that this additional troubleshooting helps out.
Kind regards,
