New Teams app scale on laptop is insane, even at min 60%. What other ways can this be corrected to its previous scale so I can actually use the app?

Why, all of a sudden, did the scale within my Teams app on my laptop get so big? I didn't do anything to cause this so it seems to be on Microsoft's end. Based on similar comments online, I zoomed out to the minimum 60% allowed. Even with that, it is still wildly oversized and much bigger than it was before the original scale change occurred. I also have a vary large screen and when I reduce the window to 1/3rd of the screen, the app is completely unusable. The scale of the browser version was reasonable the last time I used it...All in all, the desktop app is about 3-4 times the scale of Outlook (Classic b/c the new on sucks). This is so big, my 85 year old, legally blind grandmother can read it will out her glasses.

This is a horrible and very limiting update...I can't be the only one who absolutely hates this. How can I get back to how it was originally? Is there something like the Outlook (Classic) that gets me back to a reasonable scale/view?

    Dear @Crystal Carlow,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, the new Teams app appears oversized even at the minimum zoom level of 60%, and you want to restore the previous scale or find alternative ways to fix the display for usability. Unfortunately, Microsoft Teams currently only offers two versions: the desktop app and the web version. The previous “classic” version of Teams has been retired and is no longer supported. All users are now on the new Teams experience, which provides improved performance and features compared to the old version.

Have you tried to clear Teams desktop app caches? If you did not, try to follow steps below:

    Method 1: Reset via Settings

    1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
    2. Search for Microsoft Teams.
    3. Click More options (…) > Advanced options.
    4. Under Reset, select Reset.
    5. Restart Teams.

    Method 2: Manual Delete

    1. Quit Teams (right-click icon > Quit).
    2. Press Windows + R, then enter:
         %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams

    3. Delete all files and folders.
    4. Restart Teams.

If you tried it but still cannot meet your expectation, and workaround as change scale display setting you have done. I recommend you give feedback via Teams desktop app:

    1. Open Teams and select Settings and more (three dots in the upper-right corner).
    2. Choose Feedback.
    3. You’ll see three options:
      • Report a problem – Share an issue you’re experiencing.
      • Give a compliment – Highlight something you like.
      • Suggest a feature – Propose new functionality.

Meanwhile, per your need for this feature, I recommend you Send feedback on our Microsoft Teams · Community, as it is monitored by our Product Team to help improve user experience with Teams through given feedback.

The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. And a lot of the features are developed and improved based on customer feedback.

The display setting is exactly what it should be. If I change my display settings, it will mess with all my other apps/programs scales. Teams is the issue...which is also consistent with what other users have identifies.

I also am not an an administrator, so my ability to remove and add apps is very limited. As with other business users, this is likely the case with others as well.

Lastly, 80% of my use for Teams is on the laptop and telling me to use the browser instead is a completely unreasonable expectation.

I also had issues with finding devices (yes they were connected on the computer) and then when Teams finally connected to them, the volume through them was super low (yes I verified all computer and teams volume settings were on an up) . I ended up delete the app and adding back on the computer which finally worked. Talk about frustrating...everything was set up and working then poof, all of these issues and a bunch of time trying to resolve them. Presumably it was an update that "broke" things. This isn't the 1st time but certainly one of the more significant ones of late.

Also, I would like to point out that some of the options where not something a lot of users have the understanding/skill set to do and are generally beyond what "common folk" like me should have to try to navigate...nor should we have to.
