I'm trying to find an email that I deleted a few months ago. I've gone to Time Machine and restored an old backup of ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles. How do I find a specific email (and not mess up what's on the server)? FWIW, the profile contains multiple email addresses, so I'll have to make sure I find the right one.

Restoring a deleted email from a backup in Outlook for Mac can be a bit tricky, especially when ensuring you don't disrupt the current server settings. Here are some steps you can follow:

    1. Locate the Backup: Since you've already restored the backup of the Outlook profile from Time Machine, navigate to the restored folder, which is typically located at ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles.
    2. Identify the Correct Profile: If the profile contains multiple email addresses, you will need to identify which specific profile corresponds to the email account from which you want to recover the deleted email.
    3. Access the Database: Within the profile folder, look for the Data folder or similar, where the actual email data is stored. The emails are usually stored in a database format.
    4. Use a Third-Party Tool: Since Outlook for Mac does not provide a straightforward way to browse through the database files directly, consider using a third-party tool designed for recovering emails from Outlook databases. These tools can help you extract specific emails without affecting the current server data.
    5. Import the Email: Once you have located the specific email you want to recover, you can import it back into your current Outlook profile. Make sure to do this carefully to avoid overwriting any existing data.
    6. Check Server Settings: After importing, verify that the email is correctly synced with the server and that no current emails are lost or altered.

By following these steps, you should be able to find and restore the specific email you need without disrupting your current Outlook setup.
