I need help editing documents

I can't edit documents after logging in to a macbook. I have no access to my old computer because the wires got fried. I have tried all the other ways by googling and watching videos but nothing is in protected view or read only or any other suggestions people say in the videos.

    From the Subscriptions page of your Microsoft account, click on the Install link beside the listing of your edition of Office. Run the installer, then sign in to activate the software.
