    Dear dank memer

Thank you for your question and for sharing the details into Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand how frustrating it can be when you’re unable to access a game you enjoy, especially when you meet the age requirements. Let’s work together to get this resolved.

From what you described, it seems your account is being recognized as under 18, which is why the privacy and online safety settings are grayed out. Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Check your birthdate:
    • Sign in at account.microsoft.com
    • Go to Your info and confirm your date of birth is correct. If needed, update it.
    1. Verify Family settings:
    • Visit family.microsoft.com
    • If your account is listed under a family group, you may need to leave the group or ask the organizer to adjust your permissions.
    1. Sign out and back in on your Xbox after making changes.

If you’ve confirmed your age and are not in a family group but the settings are still grayed out, the issue is likely linked to account permissions or cached data. In that case, please try these additional steps:

    • Clear your Xbox cache by performing a full power cycle (hold the power button for 10 seconds, unplug for 30 seconds, then restart).
    • Check for system updates on your Xbox console.
    • Sign out and back in after making changes to your account settings.

I hope these steps help you get back into the game without any issues. Please keep me posted on how it goes. Wishing you plenty of relaxing and fun moments exploring Minecraft!

It sounds like you're encountering issues with your Xbox Live account permissions, particularly related to age restrictions. Since you mentioned that you are over 18, here are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Account Settings: Ensure that your Microsoft account is set up correctly and reflects your actual age. Sometimes, if the account was created when you were younger, it might still be classified under child account settings.
    2. Family Settings: If your account is part of a family group, the family organizer may have set restrictions that affect your permissions. You can ask the family organizer to review the settings and make necessary adjustments.
    3. Privacy & Online Safety Settings: If the options in your Privacy & Online Safety settings are grayed out, it may indicate that your account is still classified as a child account. You might need to request an upgrade to an adult account through the Xbox support channels.
    4. Contact Xbox Support: If you're unable to resolve the issue through the above steps, contacting Xbox Support directly may provide you with more specific guidance tailored to your account situation.

These steps should help you regain access to the permissions you need to play Minecraft on Xbox Live.
