    Hello !

To remove the Windows Update icon from your taskbar, right-click on the taskbar >Taskbar settings > expand the "Other system tray icons" section, and uncheck Windows Update Status.

Please let me know if you have any other question !

"At the moment, it is not possible to remove it definitely."

    bull

in Windows 11 there are 4 basic steps

1 Open the Registry Editor and jump to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings.

2 Right-click on the right windows and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name the new DWORD TrayIconVisibility.

3 Double-click on TrayIconVisibility and verify the ValueData is 0.

4 restart the computer to confirm the icon is now gone... at least until the suits decide to hack back into it

note this only removes the icon from your task bar and you can just remove file if you ever change your mind
