Planner - how to move tasks in "My Day" to buckets in "My Plan"

I have flagged emails that appear in "My Day" as a task and the email is attached. Is there a way to move those items to My Tasks or My Plans?

Currently, I am only able to create a copy the task in My Day, but the attached email does not copy over. It would be great to be able to drag the tasks to other sections.

In Microsoft Planner, tasks that appear in "My Day" are typically derived from flagged emails or tasks assigned to you. However, as of now, there is no direct feature to drag and drop tasks from "My Day" to buckets in "My Plans". You can create a copy of the task in "My Tasks" or "My Plans", but the attached email does not transfer with the copied task.

To manage your tasks effectively, you might consider manually creating a new task in the desired bucket and attaching the email again, or using the task details to recreate it in the appropriate section. Unfortunately, the functionality to move tasks directly with attachments is limited at this time.

    Hi @Jenny Lam

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

It appears you’re looking to move flagged email tasks from My Day in Microsoft To Do into specific buckets in Planner. Currently, My Day is a personal view that pulls tasks from different sources, including flagged emails, but it doesn’t support direct drag-and-drop or moving tasks into Planner buckets.

However, here are some options you can consider:

    1/ Manual move

    • Open the flagged email task in To Do, copy the details, and create a new task in Planner under the desired bucket.
    • Attach the email link manually to keep the reference.
    • You may find further guidance here: Using Microsoft To Do with flagged email from Outlook

2/ Manage your tasks with My Tasks and My Day
