Windows 10 pro 22H2 to Windows 10 iot ltsc enterprise 21H2 installation.

I recently installed Windows 10 iot ltsc enterprise 21H2 on my PC which was previously running Windows 10 Pro. After installing I applied the key which I purchased and all went well.

During and after installation updates were applied including 22H2 updates. Is this normal to force update from 21H2 to 22H2 without any option to cancel and remain on 21H2? Will this situation effect ltsc and end of support? Is there any way to roll back to 21H2 without loss of apps and files if best to do so?

"Settings, Update & Security, OS build and System info" will no longer open and display information.

Any information which would clarify my issues and concerns would really be appreciated.

Many thanks

Mike

When you install Windows 10 IoT LTSC Enterprise 21H2, it is expected that the system will not automatically upgrade to a newer version like 22H2 unless specific update settings allow for it. If your system is receiving updates for 22H2, it may be due to the update settings configured on your device or a misconfiguration during the installation process.

Regarding the end of support, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 remains in support and will continue to receive security updates according to its lifecycle, regardless of the updates applied to the system. The incorrect display of an "end of support" message has been noted in some cases, but this does not affect the actual support status of the OS.

If you wish to roll back to 21H2, there is typically a limited time frame after an upgrade during which you can revert to the previous version without losing apps and files. However, this process can vary based on how the upgrade was performed and the settings in place. If the rollback option is not available, you may need to consider a clean installation of 21H2, which would require backing up your files and reinstalling your applications.

As for the issue with "Settings, Update & Security, OS build and System info" not opening, this may indicate a problem with the installation or system files that could require troubleshooting or repair.

For detailed guidance on updates and support for Windows IoT Enterprise, you may refer to the official documentation.
