Dear Aaron Chea
Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum.
Based on your description (white charging light but unresponsive buttons), it sounds like your device has encountered a "Sleep State Hang." This is a situation where the system freezes while the screen is off, making the power button and keyboard appear non-functional.
- Could you share what is your Windows version?
- Have you test with another charger?
In the meantime, please consider trying my suggestions and let me know anything news from it:
- Disconnect all USB accessories and power cords > Press and hold the Power button down for 20 full seconds. (Do not let go even if the logo flashes) > Release, wait 10 seconds, and press the Power button once normally to start it.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates
- Download from Microsoft Store (search "Surface Diagnostic Toolkit - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store") > run it > follow prompts for hardware checks.
Please keep me updated with anything new that you are trying with each option.
