Subject: Request to Unlink PSN from Microsoft Account

Dear Microsoft Support,

I am contacting you regarding Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5 (PS5). My PlayStation Network (PSN) ID is “[Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]”.

When I try to log in to Forza Horizon 5, I receive the following error message: “This PlayStation Network account you are trying to use is already connected to a different Microsoft account. Please sign in with the Microsoft account that was previously linked.”

I do not know which Microsoft account is currently linked to my PSN, and it may be an old or deleted account.

I kindly request that you unlink my PSN ID “[Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]” from any Microsoft account, so that I can link it to the Microsoft account of my choice.

Your assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply and for the article link.

To clarify: I did link my PlayStation Network account in the past, but I do not remember which Microsoft account I used for that link. I had many Microsoft accounts and I deleted several of them about a month ago while cleaning up unused accounts. Because of that, I no longer have access to (or cannot identify) the original Microsoft account that was previously linked to my PSN.

I purchased Forza Horizon 5 on my PlayStation 5 two days ago, and I have been unable to play it even once because when I try to sign in I receive:

“This PlayStation Network account is already connected to a different Microsoft account. Please sign in with the Microsoft account that was previously linked.”

I have checked the Microsoft/Xbox pages and the PlayFab/consent pages, and none of my current accounts show a PSN link. Because the original account may have been deleted, I can’t follow the usual unlink steps.

Could you please advise exactly what can be done in this situation? Specifically:

Can Microsoft / Forza identify and unlink the original (possibly deleted) Microsoft account from your backend, or does this require PlayStation to perform the unlink?

If you require any information from me to investigate (PSN ID, Xbox gamertag, the list of Microsoft emails I currently control, purchase receipt, date/time of purchase, or any other non-sensitive verification), I will provide those details privately as needed.

If there is no way to undo this and unlinking isn’t possible, please let me know clearly so I can decide my next steps.

I appreciate your help — this is a costly purchase and I’m very disappointed to be unable to play on the account where I bought the game. Any detailed guidance or escalation you can provide would be extremely helpful.
