Pinning on Microsoft Teams Room device keeps my video mirrored

Previous to version 5.4.210.0, when we pinned our own room the large pinned video would no longer be mirrored. It meant that people in the room that had nameplates would be shown correctly.

Since 5.4.210.0 when our own room is pinned it no longer does this, but instead shows a larger version of the mirrored video.
Is there a way to change this back?

    Hi @Service,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention following the 5.4.210.0 update of Teams. We understand how inconvenient a mirrored, pinned self‑view can be, especially when in‑room text like nameplates or whiteboards needs to display correctly.

To help us assist you effectively, could you share a few details:

    • Is the behavior consistent across all rooms or only specific ones?
    • Have any device policies or custom configurations been applied recently?

While we wait for your answer, here are some steps you can try:

    1/ Pre‑join adjustment in Teams

Open Teams desktop app > click the three dots next to your profile > Settings

In Settings, select Devices > turn the toggle next to "Mirror my video" on or off to match your preference.

    2/ In‑meeting adjustment

Select the three dots (More) > Video effects and settings > Select the Setting tab > turn the toggle next to "Mirror my video" on or off to match your preference.

    3/ Contact Microsoft support

If the issue persists after trying these steps, the best next step is to reach out to your IT administrator to submit a support request to Microsoft for deeper backend review. A technical support engineer can then initiate a remote session to examine the situation, validate backend settings, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the issue. If further analysis is needed, they can escalate the case to a specialized team for deeper investigation.

As moderators, our primary goal is to provide helpful guidance and support through general troubleshooting steps. While we don’t have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend issues, we truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations. We genuinely hope the information we share helps point you in the right direction, and we're always here to assist as much as we can within our scope.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

    Hi,

    In response to your questions:
1: Is the behaviour consistent across all rooms or only specific ones?

Yes, this behaviour is consistent across all Microsoft Teams Room devices that have been updated to 5.4.210.0. Not only this location but the same is happening in different locations and from speaking with colleagues in other companies it's the same there too.

Have any device policies or custom configurations been applied recently?
No, nothing has changed bar the app update from 5.3.205.0 to 5.4.210.0
