GetObject WMI Bug in Access 2510 (Build 19328.20244)

Attempting to call GetObject("winmgmts://./root/cimv2") from the Form_Activate event handler when opening a form using a Hyperlink SubAddress fails with an automation error "Unspecified error". Opening/activating the same form using DoCmd.OpenForm or clicking the form tab works without error. Calls to GetObject for Excel also work fine either way.

Can you post your full code? What is the purpose of using WMI? Thanks!

Hi. Sorry for the delay. I was able to see the problem after downloading your file. When I researched it, I discovered that WMI has a slight conflict with using hyperlink subaddresses. Here's the workaround I used to overcome the problem. I hope it works for you.

    Hi Scot,

I was told that this issue is now fixed in the Current Channel. Are you able to verify that the issue is fixed for you by going back to Current Channel?

    Thanks,

PS. Please make sure to perform a restart as well, just to be safe. Thanks!
