To resolve the NAS access error code 0x80070035, which indicates that the network path was not found, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Network Connection: Ensure that your laptop is properly connected to the network. Verify that you can access other network resources.
    2. Verify NAS Status: Make sure that the NAS device is powered on and connected to the network. Check if it is accessible from other devices.
    3. Check Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the NAS. You may need to adjust the security settings or permissions on the NAS device.
    4. Reconnect to the Network: If the NAS is on a different network or subnet, ensure that your laptop is connected to the correct network.
    5. Use IP Address: Instead of using the NAS name, try accessing it using its IP address. This can help bypass any name resolution issues.
    6. Firewall Settings: Check your firewall settings on the laptop to ensure that they are not blocking access to the NAS.
    7. SMB Protocol: Ensure that the SMB protocol is enabled on your laptop and NAS, as this is required for file sharing.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to troubleshoot further or consult the NAS documentation for specific error codes.

    Hi Wayne,

    Typically these steps work:

    https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2025/11/windows-11-network-sharing-not-working.html

The most common fix, reported by users as most effective, is to enable Insecure Guest Logons. For this issue, some PowerShell commands need to be run. Here are the detailed steps:

Right-click the Start Button and choose Windows terminal (Admin).

In the Window that opens, copy the commands given below and paste them one by one.

    Press Y when prompted.

    Restart the computer.

    Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false
    Set-SmbClientConfiguration -EnableInsecureGuestLogons $true

    Also, the following:

Open the Start menu and type Credential Manager, then launch the application.

Select the Windows Credentials icon to view all stored network authentications.

Locate the entry corresponding to your NAS device, which will be listed by its IP address or network name (e.g., \192.168.1.10 or \MyNAS).

Expand the entry by clicking the arrow and forcefully select Remove.

Confirm the action by clicking Yes to permanently delete the stored login information

I look forward to your response and am eager to collaborate until we find a solution.

The above answers were not tried because the following steps worked already:

Control Panel >User Accounts >Manage Windows Credentials > Windows Credentials > Add a Windows credential >Type in "NASXXX (name of the NAS), NAS User Name, password"

It worked for Windows 11, Version 25H2.
