The chats section in the Teams client is showing all the users in the organisation instead of only the specific users with whom i have had conversations in Teams Client. Why is it happenning like this and would want to filter that out.

In Microsoft Teams, the chat section may display all users in the organization due to the way Teams is designed to facilitate communication. This feature allows users to easily find and connect with colleagues, even if they haven't had previous conversations. Unfortunately, as of now, there isn't a built-in filter to limit the chat section to only those users with whom you've had conversations.

If you are looking for a more streamlined experience, consider providing feedback to Microsoft through the Teams app, as user feedback can influence future updates and features.

    Dear @DEEPAK CHANDRAN A,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that you see all users in your organization listed under the Chats section in Teams instead of only those you’ve had conversations with.

To better assistance, could you please confirm following information:

    • Is this happening in the desktop, web, or mobile Teams client?
    • Have any Teams Messaging Policies or Address Book Policies been applied in the new tenant?
    • Are guest users also visible or only internal users?
    • Could you please share the screenshot of the issue via private message? Please find private message as picture below

Your detailed response will help us diagnose and investigate the issue more efficiently.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!

I'm looking forward for your reply.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
