AI answer was wrong. Humans, why does teams ignore my secondary ringer settings and only ring on my headset?
Classic teams always worked fine.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The teams secondary ringer will often ignore the settings and not make a peep.
Why is there not an option to test RECEIVE a call as well as test MAKE a call.
Additionally why does teams ignore explicit settings, WHICH HAVE NEVER CHANGED!!!
I swear its since Microsoft moved to Edge GUI's for everything the programmes get slower and worse.

Dear @Philip Shaw,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.
I offer my deepest apologies for the unpleasant experience you are having with the Teams secondary ringer. I understand how incredibly frustrating and unacceptable it is when a crucial feature like a secondary notification fails, leading you to miss important calls. That is a significant difficulty, and I am genuinely sorry for the trouble this is causing your workflow.
As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or delve into the backend systems to diagnose and fix this for you. However, our role here is limited to providing general guidance and solutions that can be applied by users.
From my research, the issue here lies in the complex interaction between the Teams client, the underlying Windows audio stack, and settings management after the shift to the Edge/WebView2 architecture.
I see that you have already identified the most common and reliable troubleshooting steps (such as clearing the cache and resetting audio devices). I strongly recommend executing those steps, as resetting the local configuration often resolves these synchronization issue.
To address the missing "Test Receive" function, you can visit the Microsoft Teams · Community to submit a new idea or vote on existing one. Our product team is in charge of this site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback. The higher the number of votes, the more attention the team will pay to it. Many features are developed and improved based on customer feedback. As a moderator, I will also pass along your feedback to the appropriate team for further consideration. While we don't directly influence product design, user feedback is actively reviewed and helps prioritize future development.
If those troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it indicates a deeper problem likely tied to your account's profile configuration or a persistent service-side conflict.
I recommend that the Global Admin in your organization create a service request with Microsoft Support on your behalf. A technical support engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis. Ask The Global Admin in your organization to create a service request with Microsoft support to get advanced technical assistance and diagnostics. For detailed instructions on how to get support, please refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin. If you don't know who your IT administrator is, please refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
