    Dear Anne Gutkowski

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

You're looking for a printer that works seamlessly with your Surface Pro 11 and handles 11x17 (tabloid) paper. Most modern printers are compatible via Windows Update or universal drivers, but for wide-format like 11x17, focus on models supporting Mopria certification or ARM64 drivers.

Important note: The largest challenge for the Surface Pro 11 is the ARM64 processor architecture. Even if an 11x17 printer is brand new, if the manufacturer has not provided an explicit ARM64-compatible driver, you may only get basic print functionality (no 11x17 option) via the default Windows-provided driver.

    Recommended Options:

    • HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format: Supports 11x17, wireless, and ARM via HP Universal Print Driver. HP Support
    • Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7840: Wide-format all-in-one for 11x17, Mopria-certified for easy setup on Windows 11 ARM. Epson Drivers
    • Canon imagePROGRAF TM-250: 24" large format (includes 11x17), compatible with Windows 11 via universal drivers. Canon Support

    How to set up:

    • Go to [Settings] > [Bluetooth & devices] > [Printers & scanners] > [Add device].
    • Windows auto-detects and installs a generic driver (like IPP) for basic printing.
    • For full features, download the ARM64 driver from the manufacturer's site and run it.
    • Select 11x17 in print settings once connected.
    • Before printing a critical 11x17 document, ensure the paper size is correctly selected in the [Print Preferences/Properties] dialogue, as some printers require this setting to be manually confirmed for large formats.

Note: If using a non-ARM printer, features may be limited—test with the generic driver first. For offline printing, ensure Wi-Fi Direct support.
