I cannot find the Cameo feature in my PpowerPoint when I look in PowerPoint - FILE tab - OPTIONS - CUSTOMIZED RIBBON I can see under the CAMERA options that Camei is there, but it s darkened out as an option I don't have.

My version is 2511 and I have a Microsoft Business Premium account so I was expecting to have this option.

Anyone with any insight on what is happening here?

    Dear @David Yee,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that you want to use the Cameo feature in PowerPoint, and I did find and use this feature in the same version of PowerPoint as yours, which is shown under the Insert tab as shown here. So, I understand that it is indeed a confusing thing when Cameo cannot in your application.

In fact, Cameo in PowerPoint is a feature for Microsoft 365 subscribers. Therefore, please make sure that the Microsoft account you use to log into PowerPoint has a valid Microsoft 365 subscription. To learn how to use Cameo in PowerPoint, you can refer to: Presenting with cameo - Microsoft Support.

If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription and the feature still hasn't been added to your PowerPoint, then you can try signing out of your Microsoft account from PowerPoint and close all Office applications completely and then reopening PowerPoint and signing in to your Microsoft 365 subscribed account. Check if you can find this feature.

If you are still unable to find Cameo in PowerPoint, then here are some steps I recommend you try:

Step 1: Verify and Reassign licensing

In PowerPoint: File > Account > About PowerPoint > Confirm Microsoft 365 (subscription) version and license

    Step 2: Check connected experiences/policies

In PowerPoint: File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings > Ensure “Connected experiences” aren’t disabled locally.

If they are policy-controlled, you’ll see messages stating that settings are managed by your organization; in that case, ask IT to confirm that connected experiences are allowed for Office Apps. Greyed-out commands are the expected behavior when disabled. For reference: Connected experiences in Office

    Step 3: Validate camera permissions

Windows: Settings > Privacy & security > Camera > allow camera for PowerPoint.

Step 4: Repair & reset UI

    • Office Repair (Windows) > When you're done, you might need to restart your computer. For instruction, please follow: Repair an Office application
    • Reset the ribbon: File > Options > Customize Ribbon > Reset > Reset all customizations

    Step 5: Update Office

Open any office app > File > Account > Update Options > Update Now

If the issue still persists, I would like you to provide us with more information related to your issue, including to the screenshot of the Insert screen I gave above, and the screenshot of the Office version information under the File - Account menu, so that I can understand more about your situation and provide you with more help.

Moreover, could you confirm these questions to help me narrow down the issue:

    • Since you are using business account, are you the admin in your company?
    • Could you try log into PowerPoint on another devices (Windows or Mac) with the same Microsoft 365 Business Premium account. Does Cameo appear there?
    • If possible, could you sign in with a different Microsoft 365 account (e.g., a colleague’s) on your current device. If Cameo works for them, the issue is likely account or policy related.
    • Open PowerPoint in PowerPoint for the Web (via office.com), is the Cameo feature available there?

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. If I misunderstand anything, please feel free to reach out.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

I'm looking forward for your reply.
