I have tried removing all accounts, all extensions, cleaning the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling edge. But everytime I get this same error. The only thing I did differently is that I tried logging into azure portal for the first time yesterday, and got: Sign-in failed

Error code: AADSTS5000225

Error message: AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity. To learn more about tenant lifecycle policies, see https://aka.ms/TenantLifecycle Trace ID: 764d7f88-5e52-4e99-8819-e2d69e43fa00 Correlation ID: 56691490-4643-4f13-a193-3fc0bba8ec3b Timestamp: 2025-11-28 18:03:07Z

An inactivity error although it was the first time acessing it. I don't know if it can be the cause of my inability to sync with microsoft edge tho, since I did this post from the same account.

Why might it be? Has anyone have a similar experience before?

    Hello,

The Azure error you saw is the key. AADSTS5000225 means an Entra ID tenant tied to your identity is blocked due to inactivity. When that happens, some sign-in flows on Windows can try the organizational route first and fail before they ever fall back to your personal Microsoft account.

The fix that typically clears this is to remove your profile's link to that blocked organization, then sign in to Edge again as a personal account.

In any browser, open myaccount.microsoft.com, go to Organizations, and leave any organization you do not actively use, especially the one that matches the tenant that showed the AADSTS5000225 error. You can leave any organization that is not your Home organization from that page. Confirm the leave action, then sign out from that site.

Now close Edge completely so no msedge.exe remains, then open Edge and sign in to your profile again using your Microsoft personal account and turn sync on. If you are offered a choice between Work or school and Personal, pick Personal. In most cases sync starts working immediately because Edge now acquires consumer tokens rather than trying the blocked organizational tenant first.

If you try this and 7q6ca still appears, tell me what changed on the Organizations page and I will give you the next step.
