Spent a fortune building my PC would not connect to internet when installing Windows 11. During set up I installed Microsoft edge which doesn't open. I have tried to repair it and uninstall it, it won't let me. I can't activate it because it wont connect and I have tried changing the activation key for another copy of Windows 11, I know they are both genuine but because the system can't connect, it gives me the option to purchase a code via Microsoft store for over £200. I think Linux Mint is the answer. Years ago you could activate over the phone. That option isn't available as far as I could see. I tried the help page and gave them permission to connect to try and repair but without Edge I get that running circle.

Hi Mike, thanks for reaching out. Is your PC able to connect to the internet outside of setup?

Windows 11 activation requires an online connection to validate your license, and Microsoft no longer supports phone activation for most editions. Edge is built into Windows 11 and cannot be uninstalled; if it won’t open, I recommend running Windows Update and the built-in app troubleshooter, and making sure your network drivers are installed correctly.
