I have 2 hotmail accounts which have been for suspected fraudulent activity blocked :

[Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@hotmail.co.uk

[Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]hotmail.com.

I have recently been in Bali in Indonesia & Perth Australia. Whilst in Perth whilst trying to retrieve a ticket from ticketmaster my account was blocked.

I have tried to re-open the account whilst in Perth using an email address [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]sky.com but it was unsuccessful. On my return to the UK,yesterday, I tried again using my work computer and work email address of @.com but again was unsuccessful. In my inbox and sent items you will be able to see numerous messages sent between these two addresses.

I have opened another hotmail account [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@ hotmail.com but again had no luck unblocking / accessing my account.

I need to manually prove who I am as I need access to emails as I have and am waiting for emails regarding a flight booked to Italy via whizz air(flight has been cancelled), I have leased a new car and am waiting for details from Nationwide Car leasing, I also have a holiday scheduled for 20th December where I have numerous bookings made mainly through booking.com which I need to access. Add to this numerous emails that I have about a rental property, my car insurance etc etc.

I have tried at least 4 times to retrieve the account but I can't remember my historical person prompt. I have typed in the last people I can remember emailing. I have now used my work computer , which I usually use to access hotmail and I still can't access my account. I will try again from work today so you can see the IPpaddress and location.

How can I prove who I am, as it is proving imossible to access my accounts. Is it possible speak to someone and go through a security check.

I have just sent a testing email to both [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@hotmail.co.uk &[Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@hotmamil.com from my work computer. This will show up as being sent from my home address at [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]. The Internet provider is Plus Net

    Hi peter ward,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how important it is for you to regain access, especially with upcoming travel and bookings.

When an account is blocked for suspected fraudulent activity, Microsoft requires a reinstatement process to ensure your security. Please follow these steps:

    1. Submit the Account Reinstatement Form

    2. Tips to Improve Success

    • Use a trusted device and location (your work computer and home network are ideal).
    • Provide as much accurate information as possible:
    • Previous passwords you remember.
    • Services linked to the account (Outlook, OneDrive, Skype).
    • Recent email subjects or contacts.
    • If you have recently sent test emails, mention that in the form.

    3. If the Request Fails

    • Wait 24 hours and try again with additional details.
    • If you have two-step verification, use recovery codes or linked phone/email.

Please note that for security reasons, Microsoft does not offer manual identity verification via phone. All reinstatement requests must go through the official process.
