Hello,

I am a currently enrolled student at Minhaj University Lahore, Pakistan.

I am trying to activate Azure for Students using my Microsoft account (******@gmail.com).

However, I receive this error:

“You are not eligible to renew Azure for Students.”

My university email domain (mul.edu.pk) is recognized as a work/school domain but is not properly registered in Microsoft’s academic system, so automatic verification fails.

I can provide all of these but I don't know how and to who

Attached:

  • Student ID Card (front/back)
  • Enrollment letter or fee voucher
  • Screenshot of portal containing my name
  • CNIC (if required)

To resolve the issue with activating Azure for Students, you should ensure that your university email address is properly registered in Microsoft's academic system. Since your university email domain is recognized as a work/school domain but not verified, you may need to contact Microsoft support directly for assistance.

Here are the steps you can take:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Reach out to Microsoft support for Azure for Students. You can explain your situation and provide them with the necessary documentation, such as your student ID card, enrollment letter, and any other relevant proof of your student status.
    2. Provide Documentation: When you contact support, be prepared to share the documents you mentioned (student ID card, enrollment letter, etc.) to verify your student status.
    3. Follow Up: After submitting your request, follow up with Microsoft support to ensure your case is being processed.

It's important to act quickly, as the eligibility for Azure for Students is typically tied to your active student status. If you need further assistance, you can also check the Azure for Students offer page for any additional information regarding eligibility and support options.

    Hello Faiq ul Hassan,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

    Here’s what you can try:

    1. Check for a "Fix Now" Button: Log in to your Azure for Students account and see if there's a 'Fix now' button under the Identity Verification section. If it's there and your status is "Pending," click it and follow the instructions to present your Verifiable Credentials.
    2. Re-Trigger Identity Verification: If you see the verification status as "Rejected" along with the button, click it to re-trigger the vetting process. Make sure that your name matches exactly with the details on the supporting ID document you plan to provide.
    3. Gather Documentation: Keep all the required documents handy (such as your student ID card, enrollment letter, etc.). When contacting support, mention your issue clearly and indicate that your university hasn’t been registered for automatic verification. It might help to attach those documents in your support request.

    Follow-Up Questions:

    1. Have you previously been able to activate Azure for Students with the same email address?
    2. Are you currently able to access other Microsoft services using your university email?
    3. Could you provide the specific error message details if available?

I hope this helps you get started on resolving the issue! Let me know if you have any more questions or need further assistance!
