You are experiencing persistent errors when trying to access the Video Indexer API portal due to a duplicate account issue. Despite waiting over 90 days, the trial account deletion has not completed, and you continue to see the error message: "Couldn't sign in to the Developer Portal. Another user with the email is already registered to APIM."

This error typically occurs when:

• Multiple accounts are linked to the same email address.
• The Developer Portal still retains the old registration, even after initiating deletion.
• The trial account remains active in the backend, preventing new sign-ins.
• Verify Subscription and Roles
  • Ensure you are using a valid paid subscription for API access.
  • Check your role assignments in the Azure portal under Access Control (IAM) for the Video Indexer resource.
• Clear Developer Portal Registration
  • If you have multiple accounts with the same email, delete the Developer Portal registration and re-register.
  • Follow the steps in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/media-services/video-indexer/video-indexer-overview.
• Access Token Validation
  • If you encounter “Unauthorized” errors after sign-in, confirm that your access token is correctly generated and scoped for the APIs you intend to use.

Thank you very much for your guidance. I can confirm the following and still get the "Unauthorized" errors with the access token and APIM registration.

• Verify Subscription and Roles
  I have confirmed that I'm using a Standard SKU resource and with paid subscription requested via Azure Portal and the rbac is with high-privilege and sufficient as per the documentation to provide Access Control on the resource.
• Clear Developer Portal Registration
  Deleting and re-registering has been attempted several times now and the deleted account continues to be in "pending" state.
• Access Token Validation has been attempted both from code as well as from the API reference try-it form but with the same "Unauthorized" error. There is simply no workaround and hence this ticket.

As an aside, I always logout and log back in before trying the api and I have even tried it from an incognito browser. Please check the workflows on your end to why the deleted account continues to block the usage and remains in pending state even beyond the 90 days.
