What has changed with Windows activation? I'm getting an "invalid product" error every time now.

I'm installing Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC, which is still supported by Microsoft. I'm using a multi-use product key with 6 uses still remaining. The last use was October 30th. Back then, I was able to activate it through the typical Settings>Activation route and it would activate with no extra steps. Now, on my current PC, the same key won't activate. I'm given an error (0x803fa067) indicating it's not a valid license or key. I then use SLUI 4 and call the activation line, which sends me the smartphone activation link. Then, after entering the Installation ID, I'm told the product I have is not valid. How is this possible when I KNOW the product key is valid? What has Microsoft changed with their activation service and how can I get back to using this again?

2025-12-01T16:53:07.7666667+00:00 Your computer shows an OEM-COA-NSLP license, but you said you multi-use product key with 6 uses left. It sounds like you were using an MAK license instead, can you clarify if you are indeed trying to use an MAK license?

This key was purchased from a well-established, reliable vendor, from which many other MAKs have been purchased and used without any issue. I'm the only one who can access or use the key. Is there some other way to check if it's been used more than the 4 times I've used it? There doesn't seem to be any way to contact a human at Microsoft support.

2025-12-01T17:25:57.41+00:00 Ok, so you are an individual user who purchased an MAK licene from some vendor? Or, are you a business that opened a business account via a Microsoft authorized vendor and they managed your business account for you?
If it is the latter, your support is via the vendor, not directly via Microsoft, and they can log into the admin center to check the key status for you, and request to increase key limit on your behalf.
If you are individual user, you are actually not supposed to be on MAK license. And the limit is NOT by user, it is by installation. Each reinstall, even on the same device counts as one.

I'm not sure about any Microsoft business account, I'll check with the vendor. If they confirm there are still 6 valid uses of the product key, what else could be going on with this sudden activation issue?
