Unable To Log In To Some Websies

I am not able to log in to my banks' websites. I'm able to go to all other websites and log in, but 2 bank websites allow me to enter credentials, but when I select "log in", all I get is a spinning circle, and the site does not load. I have contacted the bank's technical support and worked through several steps to resolve the probem, but it still does not allow me to log in. I can log in on my Android tablet and phone. I'm running Windows 11 and have ensured it is up to date. I've cleared cookies and site data, rebooted the computer, and even restarted my router.

It seems like you are experiencing issues with specific bank websites not loading properly on your Windows 11 device, despite being able to log in on other devices. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    1. Browser Compatibility: Ensure that your web browser is updated to the latest version. If you are using Microsoft Edge, check for updates and consider trying a different browser (like Chrome or Firefox) to see if the issue persists.
    2. Clear Cache and Cookies: Although you mentioned clearing cookies and site data, make sure to do this specifically for the bank websites. Sometimes, cached data can interfere with the login process.
    3. Check Security Settings: Ensure that your browser's security settings are not blocking the bank's website. You may want to add the bank's website to your trusted sites list.
    4. Disable Extensions: Browser extensions can sometimes cause issues with website functionality. Try disabling any extensions you have installed and see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Network Issues: Since you can log in on your mobile devices, it might be worth checking if there are any network restrictions or firewall settings on your Windows 11 device that could be affecting your access to these specific sites.
    6. Try InPrivate Browsing: Open an InPrivate window in Microsoft Edge and try logging in to the bank's website again. This can help bypass any issues related to cached data or cookies.

If none of these steps work, it may be beneficial to reach out to the bank's technical support again, providing them with details about the troubleshooting steps you've already taken.

    Hi Mark,

Do you have a third-party antivirus installed? Also, have you tried accessing them through InPrivate mode? Please try it to see if you can access them. If the problem persists, try a different browser to check whether the issue is specific to Edge.

    Hi,

Try switching your DNS settings to see if it makes a difference. You can set it to Google DNS or Cloudflare DNS and check if the issue clears up. Restart your computer afterward if needed.

Thank you for the info. I tried switching to Google DNS and CLoudflare DNS. Unfortnately, it did not work. This seems to be related to a Windows update. I was able to speak to a high level tech guy at the bank who ran through some possible fixes, but he was not able to come up with an answer. I took a snapshot of some screens for him to review with their technical support department. I was able to log in on a friend's laptop with no problem, so it is not related to my ISP.
