Dear support team

I'm currently using Microsoft team personal version, and I have a limited time of 60 minutes during the meeting. So, I'm planning on upgrading to 365 business basic, but I'm not sure if all history in my Teams account would be kept or not. Whether is it the best solution for me, in case I just want not to be limited by 60 minutes.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Upgrading from Microsoft Teams personal to Microsoft 365 Business Basic will allow you to access additional features, including the removal of the 60-minute meeting limit. However, when you transition to your new work account, your chat history and data from your personal Teams account will not be migrated automatically. To retain access to your old chats, you can keep both accounts open side by side during the transition.

If you want to ensure that you have a seamless experience and access to more robust features, upgrading to Microsoft 365 Business Basic is a good solution. Just remember to inform your contacts to start using your new work account for communication.

Dear @huy nguyen, Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. We are happy to assist.

Your chat history, files, and account data are tied to your Microsoft account (email address), not the subscription itself.

Upgrading to Microsoft 365 Business Basic does not delete or reset your existing Teams data.

    However, please note:

Teams Personal and Teams for Work/School are technically separate environments.

After upgrading, you will be using Teams for Work/School, which has additional features.

Your existing personal chats/groups will remain available only in Teams Personal, not migrated into the Work/School environment.

Your data is not lost, but the two environments are kept separate for security and compliance reasons.

The 60-minute limitation applies only to Teams Free (personal) meetings.

After upgrading to Microsoft 365 Business Basic, you will get:

    • Up to 30-hour meeting duration
    • Up to 300 meeting participants
    • Full Teams for Work/School functionality

The 60 minutes limit for group meeting apply to users of Microsoft Teams Free without any Microsoft 365 subscription. In order to remove this 60 minutes limit you can upgrade your account to Microsoft 365 personal, Family or Premium subscription. With this upgrade you will remain in the same Microsoft account and will keep your entire chat history in Teams. There is no need to upgrade to any Business subscription.
