    Hi john walters,

Good day. I'm Jhun an independent advisor. Sorry to hear about your issue. This happens a lot on Xbox, even to adults. Your Xbox Series is treating your account as a child account, which causes to trigger the restrictions. Try to do these steps in order, and hope it'll fix the problem.

    A. Check if your Microsoft account is marked as a child.

    1. Go to https://account.live.com/birthdate.
    2. Sign in your account
    3. See your age if this is registered as under 18 and change it to your real age. Prepare your documents and identifications to prove your age.
    4. Save.

    B. Check if your account is stuck inside a Microsoft Family.

    1. Go to https://family.microsoft.com/.
    2. Sign in your account.
    3. If you see your profile listed under "Your family" as a child, Click your profile inside the family.
    4. Select "Leave family group" or "Remove member" if your account is the organizer.
    5. If the "Leave family group" doesn't allow you to leave, contact or use the organizer's account and have your account remove on the family group. Or create a new family and make yourself the organizer, then remove the old one.

    C. After confirming your account as an adult, fix xbox privacy settings.

    1. Go to: https://account.xbox.com/Settings.
    2. Sign in and allow the following:
You can play games You can play content rated above your age You can join multiplayer games You can sign in on Xbox
    3. Save changes
    4. Restart your console, sign in with your reconfigured Microsoft Account.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Jhun
